Workshops can be adapted for different ages, group sizes, skill levels, and settings. No previous weaving experience required.

What we teach

Basketry is one of the oldest forms of making, and its basic techniques have been passed from hand to hand for thousands of years. Our basketry workshops offer a small way into that tradition, with projects that make space for learning, conversation, and creating alongside other people.

Weaving offers a hands-on way to learn and experiment together. Depending on the group, participants might weave on a homemade cardboard loom, a small footstool, or even a rock. Projects can be playful and imaginative, with an emphasis on the experience of making as much as the finished piece.

How we gather

Gather your people and make something together. A basketry workshop can be a creative way to mark a special occasion, bring friends together, or spend time with family. We work with groups of all ages, from kids’ birthdays to grown-up parties and everything in between.

You provide the people and the space. We’ll bring the materials, tools, instruction, and a project suited to your group.

Private workshops

We partner with K-12 schools, homeschool groups, craft schools, guilds, community organizations, and other educational programs to bring basketry or other weaving into their programming.

We work with learners across a wide range of ages, from preschool-aged children through teens and adults. We can lead a single workshop, a series of classes, or a longer program, and can develop projects that fit the age group, setting, schedule, and goals of your organization.

We can also work directly with teachers and staff, helping them build the knowledge and confidence to incorporate weaving into their own programs.

Community organizations

We work with companies, studios, retailers, and other teams looking for an engaging group experience. Whether it’s part of a team day, creative offsite, or staff gathering, we’ll design a workshop around the group and the time you have.

  • Workshop pricing depends on the size of the group, length of the workshop, materials and project, location, and other details of the event. Tell us a little about what you’re planning and we’ll put together a quote based on the group and the experience you're looking for.

  • We work with groups of different sizes, but we generally prefer to keep workshops small enough that everyone gets individual attention while still creating a sense of shared making. The right group size depends on the project, age of the participants, and setting.

    If you have a specific group size in mind, let us know and we’ll recommend a format that works.

  • We’re a mobile workshop studio and bring the materials, tools, and instruction to your home, school, community space, workplace, or other gathering place. Travel fees may apply depending on location.
