A good piece of furniture can outlast its first weave
We reweave, repair, restore, and reimagine woven furniture and objects—from vintage finds and family heirlooms to well-loved pieces in private homes, restaurants, hotels, retail spaces, museums, historic properties, and collections.
We work across a wide range of traditional and contemporary weaving techniques and materials, including cane, rattan, wicker, reed, rush, Shaker tape, Danish cord, and other textile materials. We’re interested in the old stuff, the new stuff, and the occasionally weird stuff.
More than a repair shop
Not every piece needs to be reinvented. Sometimes a beautiful old chair just needs to be re-caned and that’s exactly what we'll do.
A reweave can also be an opportunity to change the whole character of a piece: a traditional material in a bold color can make a chair seat feel completely different. A paper cord in an unexpected pattern can turn a familiar bar stool into something you’ve never seen before.
We bring knowledge of materials, weaving techniques, pattern, proportion, durability, and the practical realities of an existing piece. We’ll make recommendations, dream up new possibilities, and help you figure out what reweaving makes sense for your furniture—and we’ll let you know when it doesn’t.

Every piece of furniture is different. Cost depends on the size and number of woven components, the material, the weaving technique, the complexity of the work, and the condition of the piece.
We can often give you an initial estimate from photos, but a final assessment requires seeing the piece in person. Once we have it in the studio, we’ll inspect it more closely and let you know if anything changes the scope of the work.

It depends on the piece, the scope of the work, and our current schedule. We work with deadlines whenever we can, but keep in mind weaving is a handmade process and some projects take more time than others.
If you have a specific date you’re working toward, let us know when you reach out and we’ll talk through what’s realistic.

Sometimes. If you have a particular material that is meaningful, difficult to source, or important to the project, let us know. We’ll need to inspect it first to make sure it's appropriate for the piece and the intended use.
In most cases, we prefer to select and source the material ourselves so we can recommend what will work best for the project.

We can make the structural repairs necessary to prepare a piece for reweaving, and we’ll let you know if we find issues that need attention once the existing weave is removed.
We generally do not refinish furniture as part of the reweaving process. If you’d like a piece stained, painted, or otherwise refinished, we recommend doing that before it comes to us.

It depends on the piece and the material. Many traditional weaving materials aren’t designed for prolonged exposure to sun, rain, and changing temperatures, and outdoor use can significantly affect the life of a reweave.
We’ll consider outdoor projects case-by-case and recommend materials and care based on how the piece will be used.
